The Association, through the Admin. Officer, Leah Ng’ang’a, attended a one week training on Value Chain Development held at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort .

The training was fully sponsored by the International Labour Organisation who are actively engaging and supporting the Tourism industry in Kenya with the aim of growing and developing the industry for the benefit of the Government, Workers and Employers.

The objectives of the training were as follows:-

• Understand the principles of VCD
• Contribute to the design and implementation of market driven value chain development projects using a participatory approach
• Share experiences with VCD practitioners
• Be exposed to international best practices in VCD
• Implement an action plan supported by online tutors
