KAHC was represented at a stakeholder workshop to finalize validation of prioritized value chain upgrading strategies. The workshop was a culmination of a series of activities undertaken earlier to map, analyze and draw upgrading strategies for the three prioritized value chains that are to be promoted in the County as initial steps towards commercializing agriculture in order to reduce poverty, enhance food security and create employment. These value chains are:-
· Amaranthus leaves value chain
· Indigenous Chicken value chain
· Mixed Fish (capture) value chain
During the follow-up workshop maps and upgrading strategies of the three priority value chains were presented for discussions and three action plans were presented for the value chains and were adopted. It was agreed that the ongoing farmers should continue with what each individual farmer has been doing before these projects are finally implemented fully next year.
The role of KAHC as stakeholder is to serve as a link between the famers and hotels, to assist farmers sell their products once they are ready for consumption.
