TRA LEADERSHIP FORUM

The Tourism Regulatory Authority held a leadership forum aimed at sensitizing the industry on its mandate. The forum discussed the functions of TRA, standards and quality assurance, the issues affecting the private sector in terms of regulations, National & County Government roles in Tourism, as well as the County issues in Tourism.

The TRA is established under Section 4 of the Tourism Act, 2011 and is mandated to regulate the tourism sector. The operations of the Authority will be nationwide and will also cover the counties.

Some of the functions of the Authority will be: To regulate tourism activities and services, Register, license and grade all tourism related activities and services, Develop and implement criteria for classification and standardization of tourism facilities and services.
